The 2023/2024 tax bills went out in July 2023 with the payments due September 11, 2023 and March 11, 2024.
According to state statutes (32 V.S.A., 1674), any payments not received in the office or postmarked (US Postal Service postmarks only) by the first due date are subject to 1% interest per month, in addition any payments not received by the second due date will be automatically subject to an 8% penalty and 1% interest per month or any part thereof.
