Interested in running for local office?

The following offices are up for election on Town Meeting Day (Tuesday March 4, 2025)

  • Selectboard (2)

    • 3-year term

    • 2-year term to finish out a 3-year term

  • Moderator – 1-year term

  • Delinquent Tax Collector – 3-year term

Residents must file a Consent of Candidate form and petition with at least 10 signatures by January 27!

* Petition – signed by 1% of registered Mendon voters (currently this would be 10 signatures)

Hard copies of Consent Forms, Blank Petitions, and Open Offices can also be picked up at the Town Offices during our regular business hours.

DEADLINE: Completed Consent Forms and Petitions must be returned to the Town Clerk by Monday, January 27, 2025.

BUUSD Budget Survey

While RNESU and BUUSD have been actively seeking input through Superintendent Coffee Talks, attending community meetings and participating in school events, we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to provide input during the FY26 budget process.  We have created a brief, anonymous budget survey, and are encouraging all community members to participate.  Your input is essential in guiding the decisions made to best serve our students.

Office Closed

The Town Office will be closed Wednesday November 27-Friday November 29 to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families.

BUUSD Board Candidate Petitions

The Barstow Unified Union School District has the following openings for the Office of School Board of Director for the coming election in March 2025:

All board seats are three-year terms unless otherwise noted.

 

Petitions are available at the links provided above, at your Town Clerk’s Office, and the Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union Central Office at 49 Court Drive in Brandon.  Requests for petitions can also be made by calling the RNESU Central Office at (802) 247-5757.

 

Completed petitions, along with a signed Consent of Candidate Form, are due to your Town Clerk by Monday, January 27, 2025.  Petitions for town specific seats require signatures of the lesser of 1% of registered voters or 30 signatures.  Petitions for at-large seats require the signature of 60 registered voters.
