The first installment of the 2022-2023 property taxes is due Monday September 12, 2022.

The Town Office will have extended hours:

Friday September 9 8am- 12pm

Monday September 12 9am – 6pm

According to state statute (32 V.S.A. §1674), any payment not received in the office or postmarked (USPS postmarks only) by Monday September 12, 2022 will be automatically subject to 1% interest per month or any part thereof.

The Traffic Ordinance was amended and adopted by the Town of Mendon Selectboard on July 25, 2022.  The purpose of the amendment is to update Road Names, location of stop signs and lower the speed limit of Journeys End based on the conclusion of a traffic study.  This Ordinance shall become effective 60 days after the adoption on September 23, 2022 unless a petition is filed under 24 V.S.A. § 1973.  The voters of the Town of Mendon have the right to petition the Selectboard to reconsider the adoption of this ordinance at a Special Town Meeting provided that such petition is presented to either the Selectboard or Town Clerk no later than September 8, 2022.

NOTICE OF BOARD OF CIVIL AUTHORITY HEARINGS

Pursuant to the provisions of 32 V.S.A. §4404(b), notice is hereby given that the Board of Civil Authority within and for the Town of Mendon will on Tuesday, August 02, 2022at 4:00 p.m. meet at the Town Office – 2282 US Route 4, Mendon, VT 05701 to hear appeals of persons, or other parties, who are aggrieved by the action of the board of listers and have timely filed their written appeals with the Town Clerk.  Hearings will continue as scheduled with appellants until all aggrieved parties are heard.

The Vermont Primary Election is August 9, 2022. Polls open at 8am and close at 7pm. Please click the Warning below for more information.  The sample ballots are posted below as well, you will receive all three ballots but will only be voting on one ballot.

To register to vote in Vermont, you must be a citizen of the United States, a resident of Vermont, and 18 years or older on or before the next election. To register to vote your principal dwelling place must be in Mendon.
