Mendon Draft LHMP Update

A draft of the first half of the Mendon Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), which includes an Introduction, Purpose, Community Profile, and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, is ready for public review.  A brief overview of the work to date will be provided at the June 13, 2022 Mendon Selectboard meeting at 5 PM.  Copies of the plan are available on the Mendon Town website as well as at the Town Office.

At the June 27, 2022 Mendon Selectboard meeting, the draft plan will be discussed and there will be an opportunity to share public comments.  In addition, comments on the draft plan can be submitted to Sara Tully, Mendon Town Administrator, by email until June 27, 2022 – [email protected]

The Town of Mendon Selectboard will receive bids for paving.  Bids are due March 28th at 10 am and may be awarded at the Selectboard Meeting that evening.  The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  See the ’22 Paving Bid packet that includes specifications or contact Bill Ellis at 773-4402.  Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit a bid.

The Mendon Selectboard will conduct a public hearing on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 6:00 PM at the Mendon Town Office, 2282 US Route 4, Mendon, VT. The purpose of the hearing is to afford interested persons an opportunity to express their views on the following:
Proposed Mendon Enhanced Energy Plan and a concurrent proposed amendment to the Energy Section of the Mendon Town Plan adopted August 24, 2020. The Mendon Town Plan has been updated in accordance with the goals set forth in 24 V.S.A. §4302. The changes made to the Mendon Town Plan include the adoption of a stand-alone Mendon Enhanced Energy Plan (EEP) and a related updated energy section referencing the EEP in the Mendon Town Plan, in compliance with the enhanced energy planning requirements set by the Department of Public Service and Act 174, to comply with state planning goals, and to be consistent with the Rutland Regional Planning Commission (RRPC) Regional Plan. The geographic area affected is the Town of Mendon.
